Jourdan Duplessie was born in Birmingham, Alabama, and raised along the Gulf Coast of Mississippi — a place known as the Dirt Coast for its divide between great wealth and deep poverty. Growing up on the poverty side, he was shaped by the values he recited four to five times a week in Tae Kwon Do: Honor, Courtesy, Perseverance, Self-Control, Courage, and Community. “They weren’t just words,” Jourdan says. “They became a way of life. Your circumstances don’t define you, but your character does.”

When Jourdan and his wife, Jessica, felt God calling them to Hilliard, Ohio, he entered the insurance world to protect what matters most for families and businesses. The couple met through mutual friends and quickly built a life anchored in generosity and community. Becoming a father to their daughter, Magnolia, deepened Jourdan’s commitment to building and protecting legacies. “She’s taught me what the word legacy really means,” he says.

Over the years, Jourdan has built a reputation as a hardworking, client-first advisor who doesn’t measure success by numbers alone. Still, his dedication has earned him recognitions such as All American and AFLIC, which reflect both excellence across all insurance lines and a passion for protecting family and business legacies. He has also earned honors like being apart of a Life Diamond District and being the Top Umbrella Producer, and having one of the largest books of business in his former company. “I don’t keep score,” he explains. “I just keep my head down and work hard for my people.”

That commitment extends far beyond issuing policies. Jourdan believes insurance is a promise you keep showing up for — like the time he and his agency personally supplied a young family in crisis with months of baby essentials after a serious accident. Today, as owner of Duplessie & Associates LLC, his work is built on presence, protection, and a lasting promise to the communities he serves.
